there is a place called kristine'sshower that sells shea butter body butter and you can get it unscented. It is the only thing I can think of right now. I only ordered from there once because I don't often use the products but it was good on the order I did do. I think you can probably find shea butter from other places it was just the first place to get it without scent that came to mind.

Just as a precautionary, i'm wondering if you should mention this to your doc. I took fish oil for a short while and had to be taken off because I started having nose bleeds. It can have a blood thinning effect. Just a thought. I def. wouldn't increase it without speaking to the doc.

These are some suggestions from the lupus foundation. I have some horrible cracks on the bottom of my feet. I have beeen using avon theareputic foot care. hich works pretty well but it isn't for the whole body. sorry I had to print it out I couldn't get think to work.

Bath & Body Works has a foot cream called "Heel of Approval" that I bought when my heels were dry and cracking. It worked so well for me that I use it all over my body. My skin is very very dry, although it doesn't bother me except for the cracking on my heels. I have bought it twice, both when it was on a 2 for 1 sale, and I stocked up. I just checked their website for you and there's a 2 for 1 going on now, which makes in $10 a jar.

It contains AHA Alpha Hydroxy Acid, so you shouldn't use it on your face or other body parts that are in constant contact with the sun. That said, we should all avoid face creams that contain AHA.

sorry you are having the itchies - i was just in ATL last week & it was BRUTALLY cold for your area! i broke out in a rash that went from my shoulders to my ankles & was just super crawly itchy - red, scabby, nastiness - i was leaking right along with you . . .

i make my own body butter with no fragrance . . . mango butter, shea butter, palm oil, coconut oil, (equal parts of these four) yellow (not refined) beeswax (approx 1/8 the amount of the first four) . . . whip it with a stick blender with water (double amount to the butters & oils - if you use 1 ounce of each of the butters, use 2 oz. water - but add a little more if you prefer your lotions/body butters a little less thick) to make it spreadable . . . basically, you just melt them all together, add the water, whip it until its creamy & use . . . its great for the crawly itchies - put it on right after a shower & it will sink in to the skin & leave a water barrier that will actually bead when you take those hot showers . . . with no fragrance in it, it works great on sensitive skin, but you could also add a drop of spearmint & eucalyptus essential oils (NOT fragrance oils) to help calm down the irritation . . . don't be put off if there is a little bit of a "gritty" feel to it - that is from the shea, mango & beeswax - it will melt as you rub it on to your skin . . . like i said before, best time to use it is immediately after a shower - pat dry & use immediately while your skin is still damp.

if you want to try this, let me know & i will send you the website where you can order the supplies to make it. not cheap, but works oh so wonderful . . . i can't use olive oil because olive products trigger flares for me, even when applied to the skin, but this is on the same principal of using something completely natural

Hi Lynnwood, sugar scrubs help slough off the dead flaky skin on top and then the oils super hydrate the skin underneath. If you just keep putting lotion on top of the flaky spots, it not really going to penetrate. It's the flaky spots that make you itchy as well and the sugar scrubs really feel good, too. I don't have the prednisone super thin skin, yet so I'm not sure how the scrub would do for you. I would also make sure you're eating enough good fats. I went on a fat free diet for a while before I had my gall bladder out and it made my skin super fragile and dry and even made my hair real brittle. As much as we have to watch our weight on the prednisone , it's sometimes hard to remember that fats do keep our cells moisturized and we do need some in our diet unless otherwise advised by a doctor. I've never tried the fish oil because so many have shellfish ingredients and I'm highly, dangerously allergic to shellfish. I wish you the best of luck. Jennifer
