Any tips??

Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well. I have a question...I have just started my first semester of Nursing. We do not actually start our clinical for another 2 weeks but we meet at the school right now instead. On Tuesdays I have clinical 7-1 and Wednesdays 7-3:50. Last night when I got home the whole way from my knee to my toes were red hot and hurting like....heck?...lol By the time I got in bed, I felt like I was going to die. I'm wondering if any of you could give me some helpful tips as to what to do to deal with the pain so I can get through school. I just don't know what I am going to do once clinicals start. I am going to be on my feet from 7-1 and just don't know if I have started something I'm not going to be able to finish...my house needs cleaned...the kids need taken care of...the dogs are still causing problems...and the list goes on.

Hi! Yes it was on both sides...kinda in blotches here and there. I have had this happen many times before. It happens when I over do it...haha The problem I am facing right now is, I am between doctors. The one I had was refusing to treat me because of my age and I have been referred to John's Hopkins which is going to be great...I hope but for right now I am filling out all the paperwork and waiting for an appointment which I am told could take awhile to get.

And...I am definitely getting a better pair of shoes this weekend!! Thank you!

I would suggest a call to your pcp you really should have your leg veins checked out just to be safe. I am not a medical professional but a concerned person with some experience. I would definately invest in support hose if I were you they can be expensive but will help keep the blood moving.
