Today in class I noticed that my arms from the elbow down were a deep, purple with speckled red spots scattered around. For a change there was no pain and after awhile it went away. Lately I have noticed my arms have looked a little purple here and there but nothing like this. One of the other students noticed but thank god the instructor didn't...I'm not sure if I am ready for that explanation yet. Has anyone else had anything like this happen?

I'm thinkin' this warrants a call to your doc. Have you had any labs done lately? Even though it wasn't accompanied by pain I really think you should let your doc know. It may be that some of your counts are off. Keep us informed! Judy

Hey girl! When John Hopkins emailed you last week did they give you a number or email that you can get a hold of them in case something like this happens before your appointment? If not, I would deffinatly call your PCP. Let us know what they say!!!

hey there, this is a common sign lupus. My arms become very splotchy with red circles or even tend to look like brusies and turn purple. Mine do it all the time. Its saying something is wrong. Everytime my rash comes or what you call purple arms i call the doctor and have blood work done, usually they find something and get it to go away. Its actually sorta a relief that you have it so you know something is wrong.
