Hi! and welcome,
I, too, had such bad foot pain and limping, my hip skewed and I found using a cane with a forearm rest on it really does help. My dr. ordered hip and heel xrays, and I have 4mm and 7mm bone spurs on my heels. (And degenerative osteoarthritis starting, oh boy). Neuro suggested plantar fascitis? and that my underlying autoimmune disease puts my pain receptors into overdrive, which is why my hip and heels hurt so much. Cushioned heel cups from Walmart and going barefoot seemed to help me alot. He also said that the spur doesn't cause the pain, the underlying inflammatory patho does, and then the spurs result from that. You will find that many of us here share the same symptoms. I was recently found to be critically low in B12, my neuro suggested I was probably making autoantibodies against the instrinsic factor but my cbc was ok and it wasn't pernicious anemia yet. I had lived with 2+ pitting edema in my legs and such peripheral neuropathy I wanted to cry every night but don't have any tears left because my eyes are so dry. I really think the B12 is helping quiet some of my neuro symptoms, my screaming nerves and tinnitis in my rt ear, and the pitting edema was gone in a week. My toes are no longer sausages! When I think about the old saying that misery loves company, I come here for my 'support fix' and yesterday someone described sick fatigue and boy does that fit the way I feel right now. Good luck with your pending lab results,
hugs, suetoo
