Hi, my name is Dawn and I was diagnosed with mctd yesterday, my ANA, RNP and CRP are high. I am glad to have found a place with a supportive group who understands the challenges of these diseases.

I was started on Plaquenil and Ultram <for when pain is bad>, hopefully I will get good results from the Plaq, I am ever hopeful.

Welcome to this site , I have been able by reading what others are going thru to somehow find a lot of comfort in knowing we are all going thru something so lets sort it out together ....good luck

just to warn you it can take MONTHS or even a year to get full benifits from plaquenil and most of us don't realize how much it does until we decide it is doing nothing and go off of it. but it is one of the safest drugs we can take and can slow the diseases down drastically.

Okay thank you for the warning, I had the feeling it would be a long haul. I guess my worst trouble right now is 3 weeks ago I started having PVCs, ended up in hosp. and now under my cardiologist care. She has me doing several tests trying to find the sudden cause, they do not go away it's a daily event now. I hope to have news on that within 2 weeks, I am hoping its not connected to the mctd.

Welcome Dawn. I haven't been on here very long and I have read some very helpful stuff. I can't find any groups locally and this is probably better because even on days that I hurt, I can still stay in touch with others who are going through similiar situations. Glad you found this site....
