Hi, i know i am posting a LOT of questions.

Just curious, i forgot to tell my doctor about this bc there are SOOOOOO many things going on. (i know i am not alone on this)

Has anyone ever had their breasts hurt really bad. as if they are REALLY bruised badly internally and externally. (it hurts to even touch them when i shower)

i noticed this about 3-4 months ago when i would wake in the middle of the night with sweats (i think i forgot to tell my doctor about the sweats too) and when my pain reached a whole new level of hell.

but now my breasts are seriously painful. really badly. and they burn too. like there is a fire inside of them. (especially the nipple area) (GOD......embarrassing)

sorry if this is a really weird question???????????????????????

One of the ideas you'll read about in the "Lupus Resources" (first post on the forum) is to keep a list handy with symptoms. Just add to it everyday or every time a new symptom comes up. Then when the dr appts come, just grab the list & go! Sure has saved me lots of times when my memory just wasn't any good at all.

This sounds like something that should be taken to the Dr immediately. It's not anything I have ever heard of.

I had read somewhere that breat pain was a sign of something when it isn't hormonally associated (i.e. around period time or ovulation time or during pregnancy) but can't recall what it was associated with. I would call my gyn ASAP and get it checked out.

Hey there! Yes, I get very painful breast pain. I can't sleep on my stomach any more because they both hurt so bad. Sometimes it is very painful to even have a bra on or anything tight! I haven't asked my doctor about it because it didnt start until I started taking a certain medicine so I figure it is just a side effect. I know that doesnt help much but know its also a relief to know you arn't the only one out there with a crazy symptom!!!

I do have pain in that area but I noticed that they hurt when my lymph glandes are severly swollen, which my Dr tells me is a symptom of lupus which I have to add I have no been officially diagnosed with. Are your nodes swollen under your arm pits?

They do not burn but they do get tender to the touch and they also get sharp pains at times too. Have you had a mamogram done to test for the possibility of breast cancer?

I had breast implants put in May of 2009.  Within two weeks of the surgery, I had severe pain and burning that was unbearable. I kept telling my surgeon that something was wrong, and he just kept saying, let's give it more time.  At my last check up which was one year to the day of surgery, I told him how bad the pain was, and he said, well there is really nothing I can do for you.  Two weeks ago I was diagnosed with Lupus!  I am meeting with my surgeon next week....hopefully something can be done! I am in tremendous pain...

I don't know if any of you drink caffine or take vitamins, but those are two things that get my girls asinging.... I might add the song isn't a pretty one. I don't know if it has anything to do with Lupus or any other autoimmune disease because it has gone on for years with me. If I take vitamins I may even get lumps and discharge and tightness which is painful. Caffine just makes them hurt and burn, they can even feel feverish. My drs have always said then don't drink or eat anything with caffine and don't take vitamins just eat right. Hope this helps someone and I hope that all of you can find some ease.

Lynnwood, yes i have started to be more rigorous in my list. (i need to also work on being more assertive at the doctors and not feeling like i am such a bother. it has NOTHING to do with them.....they are great. this is my issue) thank you for the suggestion!!
Aimsgirl16, yes it does help for people to related. makes me realize, i am not going completely mad.....for the most part. :) thanks

Lawchick, i can't feel my lymph nodes under my arms right now bc i am really swollen from my IV port surgery. (i will check as soon as my body heals though......thank you) no, i have not done a mamogram. i will get on top of that as well.

Gooieman, i have never had breast implants. (i am pretty much as flat as a board) :) I am sorry about your recent diagnosis. I hope they will soon find a remedy for your pain as well.

Jdrea, your right !!! i started drinking coffee months ago, just so i could get to my appointments. (i will do my best this week to get back off)

Hey Ms. Wonder - this is actually a problem I was having and was going to post it but felt like I was posting so many different things, haha.  I have been on the depo shot for years now, so no longer get my period (which was horrendous, not being able to walk, so its been helpful).  In any case, when I used to get my period, I could hardly walk down steps without holding my boobs or couldn't wear a bra, etc.  So they are really sensitive.

Having said that, in the past month or so I've experienced the burning which is seemingly out of nowhere and drove me crazy!  Sometimes it would be steady everywhere, other times it would be a stronger burning in one area.  I do notice now that when my neck or especially armpit lymph nodes are swollen, my breasts are more tender so that comment makes a lot of sense.  You definitely aren't alone and I feel like I have so many symptoms that a) i can never remember them all, b) I feel like I never have enough time to ask them all and c) I feel dumb sometimes like I'm making a big deal over nothing, but now I no longer know what could be serious as compared to things I always just deal with!  A confusing thing it is!

humm I do have sore breast sometimes but not that bad. Nothing suprises me though. I have new symptoms all the time there are soooo many. I just keep track of everything on paper. Good luck I pray you feel better soon.

Hi,

I just read the questions and comments about the pain and burning of breasts, I had never felt that till 1 hour ago..it literally felt like the nipples were on fire. I ran to bathroom and the rest of my breast is not hurting. I laid a cold compress on both nipples and that stopped it. I have had a mammogram in last 6 months at my gyn and they said all is good, so not sure what could have triggered this off.
I just checked and the lymph nodes under my arms are tender also.

I hope you all feel better and find the strength to keep fighting....because we will win.

I saw this and let out a loud OMG.. me too!! BUT.. I have not received an official Lupus dx. This breast pain is usually in my left breast and does seem to come from my underarm and into the tissue of the breast. There are times I truly want to just cut them off. I've had several mamo's and Ultra Sounds for Cysts. They can't tie the pain into that though.

I have had Lupus for years,Fibromyalgia,RA and a few other serious things. I am in remission with MS turn

My question or my wondering..I have had 3 cancers before. Never breast cancer,just beneign lumps. I check my breasts often.  Out of the blue after a few months of not checking,I realized the term "flat as a pancake" was true when I laid on my back to do a breast exam. I realized I have no more glands or milk ducts or what ever they are called. I look like a living piece of flat bread,when I lie on my back,no nothing under my skin,or so it seems.  Is this normal?  I did have Ovarian Cancer twice in my life,as a teen and in my early 20s,when I finally had a complete hysterectomy. I never took hormones due to the fact I am allegic to tetnus. I am in my mid 60s. Does this seem normal for my age?. My mom recently died. My sister never checks her breasts so she wouldn't be one to ask. Any one else have breasts like flat bread? Thank you gmaL
