ok, I've been back on cellcept (generic this time) after a 3 year break (from name-brand).

All week I've been overstressed - since starting the ramp up (3 days now) w/cellcept I've had a temp (100.5) and feel like I'm about to feel nauseous. Only taking one 500 mg tablet in the am with food now.

Brain fog - can't remember about reaction last time I took it --

are temps & blah normal for the first few days of cellcept?

I have been on CellCept for about 14 months (name brand for the first 3 months and generic since then). My prescription was (and remains) two 500 mg tablets twice a day. When I first started I had the same reaction as you describe. So my rheumy had me back off to one tablet once a day. He had me increase the dosage each week (took about a month) until I was at full strength. That seemed to do the trick. But I do take it on a completely empty stomach (at least two hours after eating and one hour before eating). I do not know if taking it with food would cause a different reaction or not. Once I adjusted to the medication, it really helped my lupus symptoms. Hope you feel better :)

I noticed that each of you have taken both generic and regular cellcept. Is there a major difference? I just started on it one week ago. My insurance
automatically gave me generic. So far, no side effects. I take 1000mg with food. I guess it takes about one month to take effect. I hope you feel

 I have been on cellcept name brand for one year. I get my med through the patient assistance program. I take 3 500 mgs tablets twice a day. I dont really remember any side effects for me. Hopefully yours will be short lasting. Maybe something in the generic is bothering you?

Just wanted to add. I dont know if it makes a difference but I also take it on an empty stomach cause thats what my directions say.

Other than price, I have not noticed a difference between brand name and generic.

Hey Lynnwood. Sorry about the side effects. I've been on cellcept so long I can't remember the start up problems. Oh, I do remember that I started with name brand. Love, Donna
