Hello everyone,

SO yesterday i went to visit my ophthalmologist and i got some not so comforting news... I have vasculitis... He explained what it was but it wasn't so clear to me, it was just another addition to the list of lupus patient conditions. I will be having an exam (Optos FA) to specifically look at the severity of the vasculitis in depth as well as aERG to test the eye's reaction on plaquenil Has anyone had this condition and is there anything to reduce the inflammation of the blood vessels that has worked for anyone or what treatment as worked, not worked etc. :-( I am looking for a lil more of an orientation on anything about this... I've googled it but there is nothing like personal experiences.

Hi ShinyLight - I can relate to the vasculitis as I also have it. However I've not had my eye Dr. specifically say it is affecting
my eyes. I will ask next time as I sometimes wake up with red, inflamed, burning eyes. I also have chronic dry eye and put
drops in all day long. Do you have symptoms in your eyes of the vasculitis?

I had a terrible infection of the scleara.. I had to take steroid drops for a good while...
I never new your eyeball could hurt so bad and for so long... it was lupus related my Dr. said...

Yes anna24! sometimes my eyes do feel like a burning sort of... i do have dry eyes as well, i've been told that recently, and i wear contact lenses so its worst! @weleetka there had been times were my eyeball does hurt lol yeah i didn't know that could happen either... THank you for the responses!

I have a good friend who wore contacts and wound up with an ulcer on her eye. Her eye Dr. said
it was caused by dry eye. She has lost some vision in that eye that will never return. If it were me,
I'd talk to the Dr. about wearing contacts with dry eye issues. I know I'll never be a candidate for
contacts.

oh wow, thank you for that I'll definitely be asking my doctor about that thank you for the new information. Its really good and important information.
