Have you been for sure diagnosed? I have not. I am still waiting. My rhumy has rescheduled twice on me so when I see my ENT tomorrow I will ask if he can do the test. What are your symptoms?

Oh boy where to start ..... jiont pain,tierd all the time, weakness, sores in mouth,eyes blure alot, head aches, pain at times that i can't hardly stand it and the list goes on, but the ruma. has me on meds that help alot, he is my angel I was lucky to find a Dr. that cares and listens to what I tell him.

Do you ever go through episodes where you feel really good with almost no symptoms?

Yes and those are great times but then there are times that I feel like I am 80 yrs. old but it hasn't been as bed now that I am on the meds.
I was told I had lupus 5 yrs. ago was on meds for yrs. got a job that had ins. went to a Dr. on there list she sent mre to a new ruma. that sholdn't be a Dr. he saw me for 5 min. said go off your meds you have fibro. The Drs. took me off the meds my life went to poo for about 6 months they kept telling me I had depresion and told me I needed to take two antidepresants and take a 2 mile walk a day and get in touch with nature and also see a shrink!!!!! well I told them what to do out in nature and where to put the pills and go to the shrink themselves that the pain is real and I wasn't going for there diagnoses! they sent me to a hosp. in Portland and guess what....I have lupus!!
I lost my job over it and have alot of hard feelings twords the Drs.. I was in so much pain for 6 months I had forgotten how bad the pain was that I went threw for 2 yrs. befor they could figure out what was wrong with me at the beginning. So if they don't diagnose you this time don't give up.

Just wanted to say Hi and to welcome you to the forum.  Sounds like you've been through many years of frustration with doctors and I'm glad you found someone to get you the proper treatments.  You will find a lot of great people on this forum to help you with questions you may have or just to give you emotional support when you need it. RX-Plaquenil,Gabapentin,Prednisone and other meds for other issues i have.

I know my Lupus isn't as bad as others....yet but over time it could get worse but maybe I can keep it where it is at I hope.
How long have you had Lupus?

Hey there Lynn,

I was diagnosed with Lupus in March of 2009 based on 3 criteria, Joint Pain, a false positive syphylis test and a positive ANA.  So far I haven't had anything else like malar rashes, extreme fatigue, hair falling out, problems with the sun, or any organ involvement, thank god.  My rhuemy seems to think that the plaquenil is definitely doing it's job and keeping the disease at bay.  Probably be on it the rest of my life.  Hope you have a good day!!

hi souterndiva, sounds like you are lucky to not have lupus as bad as others, I feel very lucky as well to not be as bad as others to. I alot of symtoms some worse then others.
