Ow ! Not to sure what's going on here. The last couple weeks my knee has been bothering me, this week it got worse and now hurts all the tie and feels like its ging to collapse under me. i'm getting these spasm type pains in my ribs, all my joints are hurting at the same time, my lymph nodes under my arm are hurting.
Eek .. I'm supposed to start plaquinel, just ordered it from the pharmacy.
I'm just not sure whats going on with the ribs and lymph nodes etc.
Is that what a flare is maybe ? My knee feels like its like tightening if that makes sense ? Pain through the joint and feels like its seperating. It's hard to explain...
I don't know if anyone will understand.

It definately sounds to me like it's a flare. I have had that pain in my knee about a week ago but it was in both of mine. It has settled now though. I hope yours does soon too. Does your doctor have you on anything for pain? What other meds are you taking? Every one on here will understand. There is alot of crazy pain that comes with having Lupus. Hope you feel better soon.

I've been having severe joint pain, the knees are unbearable. Getting up and down is the worse but it's also attacking feet, ankles, shoulders,fingers lower back and hips. My knees now pop all the time. My lymph-nodes in my neck are swollen and painful. I also have been getting sores in my ears and on my scalp. A lot of itching also. The only thing I have found that eases the joint pain is 50mg oxycodone at 6am, 2 aleve and 1 soma at 2 pm, and before bed 50 mg of oxycodone. Sometimes I use sports cream on my knees and that helps a little. I do understand your pain. I've been having some weird stuff happening too. Talk to your Dr. about pain management. I hope you find relief soon.

 Hello Asherah,

 I am dealing with a lot of the same symptoms you are. I am 32 and my symptoms started when I was 30 been diagnosed for a year.  I think the cold makes my lupus flares come. It’s not really even cold here in Arizona but I’m hurting all the same. I’m not sure where you are located at but my doc seems to think that my early diagnosis and where I live are good for me.  I’ve been in a flare for about 5 weeks give or take a week because of my symptoms are not lupus but I think they tie into the my flare in the way that once pain and symptoms start its pretty much a constant till one day it’s just better. It’s really strange so much pain and unexplainable symptoms. I know it’s frustrating if you like we can swap stories and try and understand it all. I know it helps for me to know as much as I can about what’s happening why it hurts and what I can try to get it to clear up. Please let me know if you’re interested it does help to know someone who can relate to what you’re dealing with...

I totally related to all of you.   I do want to say that plaquinal can take around 4 months to actually kick in, I hope your doctor explained that to you.  In the mean time, you may want to try cymbalta it helps with the nerve ending pain or maybe your doctor will have an alternative.   Try to stay off pain meds for as long as possible.    Hope you feel better soon!

You are not alone! We do understand! How are you feeling now? Any better? Yes, the plaquenil can take several months to work but I have also heard and talked to many people who felt a difference after a few weeks of being on it! I hope you are feeling better and sorry you seem to be in so much pain

 I have been on plaqunil for a year now. I am still in a flare but have had a day here and there with no pain. I went to the doc and gave me some creqam to try voltaren gel and cymbalta for my migranes and depression. So see if that helps till I can get a apt with me specailist. Thanks for the reply it does help to know that there are people out there who can relate and im not just amagining it.
