Hi Ladies. I want to wish you much success with your weight loss surgery. My husband had lap band surgery and lost just a little weight but he had complications. The port where they would give him a fill developed a hole and all the fluid came out so immedietly he felt the no restriction in his stomach. They gave him another surgery to replace the port ,well a short time later his port somehow flipped in his stomach and now they cant put more fluid in. They want him to have another surgery to repair it but he said no more. He didnt do very well or make a good candidate because his head still told him to eat and he didnt follow the diet changes that are required to be successful.
My brother had gastric bypass and he also didnt lose weight because he just grazed all day instead of eating big meals so ended up consuming the same calorie wise.
I think that you ladies sound excited and are prepared for doing what you need to do. I know there are lots of people who have great success and have faith you will be another 2 to add to the list!
I lost weight before lupus by watching my diet, eating 5 small balanced meals a day, and walking 5 miles a day and shed 160 pounds. But now with using prednisone for 4 years and the great lack of exercise I have the battle once again so I know how you feel . Lets just never give up on ourselves and keep on trying. We are worth it!
