I was working out at the gym and after 2 mins I got a dizzy spells, like the blood rushed to my head. i thought I was going to faint. I had to stop the elliptical glider machine and drink water. Before walking up the stairs was difficult for me due to the pain in my legs. I was wondering if anyone else experiences this during exercise.

I've experienced this, but not due to exercise.... it just happens somewhat randomly, usually after I've been standing for a long time. I have had ECGs and worn a halter monitor but never managed to record it. It's another one of those "weird things" in my medical history that hasn't been figured out.

Sometimes I'll be standing and think the room just moved. Maybe virtigo like feeling, but wanting to pass out. Sometines it comes with neausa and a need for water. Sometimes I can't remember what I said to someone, b/c a brain fog.

Mine feels like very bad orthostatic hypotension, except it comes on out of nowhere without a position change. On days when this happens I usually feel "off" the whole day long, and when I feel like that I am extra careful to rest and if I start to get that feeling I sit down right away. I've gotten better at managing it so that it doesn't happen badly anymore, I am able to cut it off as soon as it starts.
I also have a dizziness that comes with flares, and I have a "brain fog" and trouble remembering things as well. The dizziness feels like I am on a boat, or just got off a boat and don't have my land legs back yet. At it's worst I have to hold onto things in order to walk, and I've fallen a couple times. Mostly it just makes me feel off balance and unsteady, and just a very weird feeling.
I kind of think it might be inner-ear related, but I'm not sure about
the near-fainting episodes.

I have the same thing. With SLE and other stuff. I feel my mind is falling out my ears. and i feel my feet and hands get heavy or i lose my footing and fall. My husband finally told me not to worry about
it. My blood sugar is in its normal area ... i thought orthostatic hypotension but BP I check it and it runs normal to low, I have finally decided sometimes i fall. I have so many issues i decided i can't add anymore... but it does make me nervous at times, and it can be embarrassing. I am not making light of the situation, I too feel on those days that i am just off. like i won't drive. So..I want you to know next time you feel you might fall, i hope there is a nice cushion to land on.
With hugs and support to all who feel dizzy... ps i have had my inner ears checked several times. I believe this happens to me when i am in the beginning of a flare. I take meds to kill the ol immune system so it doesn't get me. so if i have even a baby fever i am off.
So here is to staying on our feet!! when we want to.

Prednsione affects the ability to maintain a normal level blood sugar -- so it's important to eat regularly and have something non-sugar, like a protein, with every meal.

I only took Prednsione once when I could not recover after a month of being very sick. That mediation is my last resort, b/c I'm only 31 now.
I use a cane sometimes to help me walk and keep me steady. Sometimes my legs just don't work or an arm might not work. Like from the pain and not being able to feel the limb.
The fainting comes on and sometimes I do actually pass out. I have to be very careful esp. driving I have to take a break after 30 mins by order of the DMV.

I experienced this just a little while ago for no apparent reason. It scared me and I had to lay down for a few minutes.

Just a thought for all of us... maybe one or some of our meds may be too strong for us. I don't do any benzodiazapines or breakthrough narcotics for pain anymore. the narcs because they just are not effective for me and the benzos i get migraines from. I tend to have a very high tolerance to meds and i know all people vary. I have a friend and i swear after surgery she has to cut a vicodin in 1/4ths or she gets dizzy. just something to think about
. maybe it isn't a symptom, I do know for me changes in temperature bring mine on quick. standing in the sun for even 30-40 seconds if temp is above 70 ish,
another thing, on meds it is so easy to get dehydrated ... if you feel thirsty you are already having symptoms of dehydration. There was a study showing that I did research on in college about
headaches, i was amazed to find out that 70-83% of headaches were caused by dehydration or could be avoided by more fluid intake. I know for me it is so hard to even get in a normal 6-8 glasses of h2O a day. sometimes i wonder if that is why i am dizzy. esp with the dry eyes, nose throat mouth. who knows..
points to ponder.
May all of you have "good" days.
with love and healthy thoughts
