Does prednisone make you hot?

That's a loaded question...lol. It definitely does turn up the thermostat particularly when you first start taking it and if you are on high doses. I was taking 60mg and the nurses kept trying to cover me up in the 4 months I was in hospitals and I kept ripping the covers off. Just one of many side effects but it is definitely an energy saving one.

lol. YES, any random symptom can be part of lupus. Remember, lupus is an overactive immune system. It can randomly assume that any part of your body is a foreign object (a bacteria or virus would normally be foreign) and attack it.

I have experienced hot flashes as well as cold spells -- and still do even after treatment has successfully controlled most of my other symptoms. I always carry a jacket for the cold spells with me, and try to carry cold water most of the time as well for the hot spells.

Learning your body and what triggers the hot spells can be helpful, but takes time and careful observation.
