High ANA and High Anti-histone abs? Is this Lupus?

For the last year I have been seeing a rheumatologist who has diagnosed me with DI Lupus. At one point my Anti-smith was high (but 3 other tests had it in normal range) while ANA and anti-histone are both considered a strong positive consecutively over the last year.

Everything else, RNP, Anti-ds DNA, and anti-cardiolipin IgG & IgM are all normal.

The thing is, I'm not taking any medications other than thyroid, hydrocortisone, and testosterone. And at the time of testing positive for the first time I wasn't even taking testosterone. Any ideas? There is no records or anything that show my thyroid medicine or hydrocortisone causes DI.

Any ideas what problems or auto immune diseases you can have with consistantly positive ANA and positive anti-histone abs lab work?

I have never taken any of those medicines. I take a desiccated thyroid (60mg), and hydrocortisone.

I was also off of the hydrocortisone for a year and was still testing positive for high ANA. I have changed my thyroid medicine several times trying to find one that makes me feel better and my antibody problems have persisted through it all. Nothing I currently take I've taken regularly over the last 5 years.

There has to be some other explanation than drug induced lupus. I read that antibodies can remain for years after, but I don't know. There is nothing else that can cause anti-histones and ANA to be high?

Smith was high once.
