Pregnancy, Lupus, and over 30

I know we've had several members with pregnancies, some went smoothly, some had issues -- but no one very recently, and I don't know that any of them are still following the forum. Also don't know of their ages -- maybe you can use the SEARCH option above (the one in the blue bar above) and find what they've posted previously.

I haven't "had" a pregnancy being over 30, but I am 30 years old and am pregnant with my first. I am just over 9 weeks along and wondering what to expect. I guess I really can't know ahead of time. I haven't been to this site in quite a while, but I thought I'd pop back and check in. I am sure that I'm not the only woman with Lupus who has serious concerns.

Thank you everyone for the replies. I am sorry to hear about your situation butternutsquash. I can imagine that it was very difficult to deal with. Perhaps when you get the lupus under control you will have better luck.

My husband and I have decided to not try for another baby since we found out that my oldest has a very rare genetic disorder that is causing him to go blind and possibly other problems down the road. My youngest has not been affected yet but has to be checked every year. The bad thing is that there is no treatment to help and essentially no hope that he will recover vision. All we can do is watch and see just how bad it will get. Bad thing is that there is no genetic test to find out what side it came from, or if we both have it.

Sorry if I brought anyone down...I am still trying to deal with the news. It is hard to explain this stuff to a 6, just turned 7, year old.
