I thought I would give an update in case anyone else ever runs into this problem. I just found out that my frequent urination was caused by the birth control pill. I recently began to see a naturopath for several symptoms that my doctors have just not been able to help me with, and he has been a huge help. When I mentioned the frequent urination to him, he told me he had heard of the birth control pill irritating people's bladders, but it was up to me to do research and come to my own conclusions. As soon as he mentioned this, it was like a huge light bulb went off in my head. My frequent urination began in October 2009 and I started a new BCP in September 2009. I decided to take a month off from it and see if it made a difference, and within days I was sleeping through the night-no trips to the bathroom! Good luck to everyone!

Good topic. I've not only had a string of UTI's since august, but I've been having to get up at night several times to pee and occasionally had protein and blood in my urine when I did not have a UTI.... I don't know what it is either. I am so sick of doctors just because I've been sick and had to go so much these past few years. I hope you can find out what the problem is. They should do some kidney function blood work and urinalysis on you. Demand it from someone.

Hi!

It happens to me only when I am in a bad flare of neuro symptoms, and much worse at night. And I have only had tea colored foamy urine twice, but my u/a's have been ok. It is normal amounts, normal color, but every hour and a half.

Thank you all! I was about to think I was crazy on top of all the difficulty I am dealing with both LUPUS and CROHNS Disease.

I was diagnosed with Crohns 33 years ago and with Lupus 3 months ago. I have learned how to deal with Crohns and the new and improved medications help. I am also learning how to deal with Lupus but this frequent urination is driving me crazy!

My rheumatologist also says that frequent urination is probably not from the Lupus but the symptoms began a year ago and my Doctors think, based on my complaints, that is about how long I have actually had Lupus.

I do intend to see an urologist as these frequent bathroom stop make working, shopping, having dinner out, taking road trips and sometimes even sex difficult.

i had this issue when i was first put on prednisone...it was explained as my kidneys were swollen and not fully functioning before but now that the inflammation was going away the excess water was being released....
