Complicated migraines??

I had an "episode" yesterday.

It happened at work, my manager said if she didn't know me and what I had been dealing with lately she said she would of thought I was having a stroke. I had muscle weakness, confusion and just not feeling "right" it felt like my whole body was in a slow mode??

 It landed me in an ambulance, and 9hrs later I left the ER with bloodwork being fine and the CT scan of my head was normal.

The episode was severe for about 30 min, there was some mild residual effects for a few hours, followed by an intense headache. Today I still don't feel "right" I'm left with twitching and seizing of the muscles under my one eye and a really bad headache that leaves my nauseous, exhausted and my head is still not right. My brain feels very slow today.

Just wondering if anyone else has experineced anything like this??

I've been diagnosed with lupus panniculitis with overlapping SLE symptoms and have been on Dapsone for about 3 wks now

I have had these episodes for years. Saw a neurologist who, despite negative tests, decided to treat me for a seizure disorder. He put me on depakoate. I didn't have any episodes while on it. However, some time after that, my odor overruled him when my egd showed celiac, and took me off it as I began to get better with my diet.

Since then I have had a few episodes, but I also have many other neurological symptoms that mimic ms. I have been tested for that and did not have it (or at least its not showing up yet).

Then I just a few days ago, got the lupus dx, so now I'm thinking it has to do with lupus neuritis?

The thing about the autoimmune disorders is that they all sort of overlap. They don't fit into neat little categories. It's hard to say which symptom is caused by which.

Also, if you have one AI, ur at an increased risk for another. I'm especially lucky to have celiac, because its reported that a celiac will have an average of 7 AIs in their lifetime!

Most of my symptoms (quirks) I've just learned to live with. That one, however, is really scary. Some things they tried to test me for were ms, seizures, stroke, diabetes, addisons, and carcinoids. Just happened to sort of stumble up on the celiac when trying to figure out why I was losing so much weight.

Wow, I'm rambling, but I hope something I said will give u something to go on. Oh! Also have ur electrolytes checked! Can cause real serious probs (another thing they checked), but is an easy fix...
