Has anyone tried Reiki (hands on healing therapy)?!!! Is this absurd?!

Ok..maybe I'm getting desperate - I just read @ Reiki .. a energy therapy of sorts. Is this another scam?! I went to a Chiropractor once that claimed he could "heal me" for @ $4000 & an appt several times a day! His initial appt to evaluate whether I was a "candidate" for his therapy (some type of occipital pressure points) left me in worse pain & running for the door, tightly clasping my purse! nono yes, I think he was a "quack", a fake, preying on the very-desperate. This made me think not-nice things @so-called Healers. So..I'm a bit of a skeptic. Has anyone tried Reiki?

There is no cure for Lupus yet.
I'm hoping they will find one.
IMHO right now anyone who says they have a cure is operating to remove your wallet.

I heard of Reiki, but never and will never try it. I dun hv any idea how it work. I agree with couchtater. There is no cure for Lupus at this moment. Any therapy or anyone claims would not make sense at all, because it's scientifically proven that Lupus is not curable at this stage.

Reiki is just "energy work". No reason you can't try it along with 'traditional' medicine. I know people that supplement their health with rekiki --- but if anyone says its a cure, they are nuts. Now if they say, will help relive symptoms, I do believe that to be true with some people. Just not for me.

There is as far as I know no cure for Lupus. However Reiki may well be useful for you. The roots of Reiki are different from how they are often seen in the West where it is viewed as a physically healing therapy. It is though about personal evolvement, and people in Japan (and more and more now in the West) follow Reiki for it support and guidance towards self awareness and enlightenment, consciousness.

I am a Reiki Master Teacher and have many Nurses who come to train with me inorder to support themselves and also to help with patient `bedside manner`. I also have clients who are medical doctors.

I have a website: http://reikipathway.com and recently I was contacted by a cancer support website asking me to give them a link to my website as they promote the approach to their patients for deep relaxation.

Reiki profoundly and deeply relaxes an individual, and as you know, when the body is deeply relaxed it does is in the best state for the body`s natural healing to kick in.

ABSOLUTELY - whatever assistance you choose to use to support you it is imperative that it is used as a support and alongside fully qualified medical practitioner treatment.
i have refused to give a session to someone in the past weho wanted to use it as a replacement! And I am very clear to any of my students that Reiki is for personal evolvement and personal awareness and to grow in consciousness NOT for physical healing!
