Conception while taking Cellcept

I AM NOT PREGNANT.  Just wanted to state that first.  But I have concern about accidentally getting pregnant.  We are very careful I think, but nothing is 100%.  I was wondering if anyone has gotten pregnant while taking it(I am sure you stopped after finding out) and how the pregnancy went and were things ok with your baby?  I know that birth defects are high if pregnant while taking cellcept. 

 

It would be nice to hear from someone who might have experience with this.  Thanks!

Welcome to our forum kmqit. I'm very familiar with Cellcept, but at 54 pregnancy isn't an issue. My periods stopped suddenly 10 years ago and I've never had one since. Anyway, if you are the type of person who can and will care for a child with birth defects you have no problems, but you must also consider that you have lupus which may hinder your ability to care for a disabled child. Thank you Butterflake. I have been blessed with two Adorable kids, and we are 98% sure we are done, but with that 2% still there I don't want to get my tubes tied, but that would be the only "for sure" way. Plus I think I would have so much guilt if I got pregnant, even if we did everything to prevent it. It would be because of me (my meds)l that the child would have difficulties. Almost to much to live with for me.
