I don't know if it's the medicine I'm taking but I kid you not I can go to bed at 9pm and sleep until 2 pm the next day! It's crazy, It's so hard to get out of bed. Not to mention my whole body hurts. cry I also am ready for a nap around two hours later. I try and try to push through it but sometimes its really hard! I am so frustrated and get angry!

What meds are you taking?
I get very fatigued too. I went to sleep last night at 11pm and had to be woke up at 12pm this morning. If I hadn't been woke up I'd probably still be sleeping. I almost took a nap awhile ago, but my cat woke me.

Prednisone, cellcept, enalipril, procardia, prevacid, buspar, effexor, wellbutrin, and plaquenil. Is there anything I can do for the fatigue

plaquenil usually helps with the fatigue.

You might need to discuss with your doctor to see if you have a viatimin defency. I suffer from a severe vitamin D defency.

When I was first diagnosed even with a similar set of meds as yours, I was sleeping 12-14 hours a day and still feeling exhausted.

When I talked to my rheumy, he prescribed Trazadone, an anti-depressant with common cross-use as a "sleeping aid". The first couple of nights I slept the same amount but actually woke up refreshed! Since then I sleep 8-9 hours (with med) feel much better!

The explanation given was that although we sleep, we are (thru stress & anxiety chemically caused by lupus) not getting into a deep sleep. With the addition of Trazadone, I get a "deep restorative sleep" and life is much better!

Talk to your doctor about the amount you sleep and the possibility that your sleep is of poor quality.

Like Lynnwood said, the type of sleep you are getting is extremely important. Without a sleep aid, I can sleep 12+ hours a day but never feel fully rested. about 3 years ago I started taking Ambien CR (now available as a generic) and the difference was incredible! I still require about 9 hours of sleep per night but I am much more alert during my waking hours. And I feel better. I would definitely discuss this with your doctor.

I have tried ambien and seraquil and I feel like a zombie the next day! It's so frustrating since I'm in college and have a part time job. I feel like nobody believes me that I don't feel well because I look fine. I get so lonely sometimes.

I think that's why my rheumy likes Trazodone - it doesn't seem to have the "hangover" or zombie qualities like mainstream sedatives have.

Isn't Seraquil a schizophrenia med?

Also some of the meds can interfere with good sleep -- check the side effects and if any say 'may produce anxiety or interfere with sleep' see if you can take them several hours before bedtime or even in the morning. Move prednisone as early in the day as you can, if you haven't already!

Dehydration can make you sleep poorly, as can irregular bedtimes. Even though your sleep seems ok, it may not be. Ever had a sleep study? They can see if your brain is getting enough of the right kind of sleep.

seraquil is also used for Bipolar which I have.

Hi Lupie girl, I understand the tiredness and pain. No one seems to believe you. My doctor actually had to write a letter to my employee informing them on my condition and flare ups I get and the symptoms. It is very hard at times. I also have severe anemia and low vitamin d. I have had hair lost, sores in my mouth and head. My hands, feet, ankles, and knees swell at any given time. I also have experiencing swelling in the face around my eyelids. My lungs stay inflamed which cause me to have shortness of breath. I am not able to do half the things I use to do.I try to kept pushing on. I pray things get better for us all.
