I would like to know for future purposes about lupus and pregnancy can it be successful i have Anti - phosphoid syndrome (sticky blood) which i heard can cause problems in pregnancy. In my lupus clinic i go to, there is joint Lupus, kidney and pregnancy clinics all in one. But i havent got much info on this would i be able to still get pregnant in the future has anyone had successful pregnancies with Anti- Ro and lupus.

I did hear you can take asprin though the pregnancy low dose of 75 is this effective

Any info on this would be appreciated.............. Thanks

I know that you need a high risk doctor treating you during the pregnancy to keep trouble down to a minimum.

There is lupus pregnancy clinic as i mentioned so i guess they should deal with all aspects of lupus through pregnancy wheather high risk or low risk right... hope so... everyone wants childern anyway thanks for the info....

Hello Miss Lupus.

I had two children after being diagnosed with Lupus. My first pregnancy was easy but he came 6 weeks early. My second almost killed me (was in the hospital a lot) and she was 3 weeks early. Both children are healthy and happy.

That being said, I did not have the anti-Ro but you are correct about the aspirin. If you still have problems, they can use heparin (I believe that is the name) to help. You definitely want a maternal-fetal specialist to monitor you. I believe you have found one that sounds good. There will be a lot of visits, blood tests, ultrasounds and fetal monitoring (can't remember the exact name) that they do when you are in labor but for a couple months before you give birth.

I would say that you need to wait until you are ready before you worry. Just remember to go to the specialist before you plan to get pregnant so they can do preliminary testing and a work up on your body and the lupus activity so that you know what you are dealing with. Lupus changes as you get older and your body responds differently than when you are first diagnosed.

OMG thats scary i bet your husband nearly died himself this illness does nothing but take thank god your ok anti - Ro makes my situtation difficult i guess but i have been told i can still have childern so thats a plus side this is far away at the moment i just wanted some advice and that does help what you said thank you.....
