So my rhumey diagnosed me with subacute-cutaneous lupus.  about 3 weeks ago I noticed what I thought to be a bruise on my upper hip but it hasnt gone away and now I'm wondering if it could possibly be skin cancer.  I called my rhumey but his nurse told me to see my family doctor, my appointment is in one week!

I'm not really scared but it is concerning me a little bit...anyone know anything about my type of lupus?

I can't think of any skin cancer that would look like a bruise. Sometimes people with Lupus heal a bit slower than others. I suspect your bruise is just a bruise.

Thanks, I do hope so but thing is that I don't remember hitting or bummping into anything. But then again I do work in a factory where anything is possible. Thanks for putting my mind at ease...Patty

With Lupus you can get these all the time... never have to really hit something just bump something will do it, it's very commen. I get them all the stinking time! I bet thats what it is. Us Lupies bruise like crazy.

Well my MD. said the "stain" was a side effect from the plaquinil. I can rest easy now.

I have been reading what all of yall are writing about lupus. I want to ask so many questions. However, both of my hands hurt so badly it is all I can do to write this short note. I am Cathy and I will be back and to meet the new members....regards and a big Texas yeehaw..Cathy
