Hey room! It's been a while!
I read someplace that low doses of DHEA and Flaxseed are helpful in the treatment of Lupus. Has anyone had any experience with them? I also had someone tell me that deionized water (water in its purest form) is also better for people with autoimmune illnesses.
I've been on a drug regimine for several years now that seems to keep me in remission. I just hate putting all these drugs into my system, especially if there are natural remidies.
TIA!

Flaxseed does nothing for me. Fish oil helps me more, but I still have to take my meds.

My chiropractor told me today that Fish Oil with the Omega 3s is better for Lupus than Flaxseed. So I am going to try dropping the Flaxseed and see if I notice any change.

My husband says he read someplace that if you freeze the fish oil tablets they don't have the fishy aftertaste.

I take these supplements and I have have great success, but you can't eat crappy and think a few supplements will do all the work. i have no organ involvement and have stopped all my meds because like you i didn't wanna put all that crap in my body if i could somehow avoid it. Good luck! vitamin B6 and aloe vera juice is great too!

fish oil is better? How much is recommended ? THere is a really good fish oil on amazon that is in liquid form. It is supposed to be very pure. I used to take it and i would just put it in my orange juice and swallow. It was easy. Now i take flaxseed oil-it is cheaper, but if fish oil is better, I will go back to that.
This is what I used to take:

ALso-lupie84 - what supplements do you take and what kind of diet regime do you follow ? i.e., no dairy, gluten, lots of green veggies, no processed foods, etc.

I get mine from my Dr in a prescript
ion-it is called Lovasa the dosage is 1 Gram and I take 1 in the middle of my breakfast and one in the middle of my dinner. I find if I sort of "surround" the capsule with food I don't get the fish burps!! Since I'm disabled and on Social Security I get Medicare Part D and I'm considered "low income" and I get help from the state with my meds so getting a prescript
ion is really the cheapest way for me to go.
