to cut a long story short i was 18 weeks pregnant last week and my baby died and i had to give birth Sunday. i was sent away from the hospital with a blood test form that i have to have in december for lupus screening i have no idea whatsoever what this is.
i feel tired all the time and freezing cold and would blame aneamia on that. i was also diagonised with scoliosis and spina bifida occult last year so i suffer from bad joint pain at the lower back im always breathless to the point i have to take a large deep breath occasionally im rhesus o negative blood group so have to have anti d any advice would be greatly appreciated

I am so sorry for your loss, I can't imagine how awful that must be.

It sounds as though they are covering the bases and trying to determine what went wrong and if they can prevent it in the future. After letting your system get back to normal, they will do these blood tests and look at them in conjunction with your symptoms (as the symptoms present in December), to see if there might be a course of treatment that might help you.

Please don't worry about something (lupus) that you haven't been diagnosed with yet. I don't think the symptoms you've mentioned indicate lupus, but we aren't doctors and it sounds as though your docs have it under control. If you are interested in finding out more about lupus you can read at www.lupus.org - but remember that lupus can be controlled and can be minor.

Sorry to heard about your baby. I hope your body and spirit will heal fully in time.
Try not to fret over the possiblity of lupus. Be patient while you wait.

I'm so sorry for you loss, there's nothing worse than losing your child, gentle (((hugs))) for you.

I have to agree with Lynnwood and Joy. It sounds to me that your doctors are trying to figure things out and are checking all the bases. I'm no doctor by any means, but I've had lupus for 26 years now and a pretty bad case at that. What you've described really doesn't sound like lupus to me either.

Please try to relax about the whole lupus thing and not worry about it now. Try to let yourself heal from you loss of your baby. Get plenty of rest and make sure that you eat a well balanced diet. Take care and keep up posted on how you're doing and what's happening with the lupus tests.
