A few months ago I was diagnosed with restless legs and then about a month ago I started having problems with my whole body jerking when I was falling asleep. It got so severe I felt that if it lasted longer I would have a seizure. Then my hand started doing repetitive movements while I was sleeping that would wake me up. The doctor put me on Klonapin and said that I had Periodic Limb Movement disorder. Well last night I forgot to take the Klonapin and I counted three to four times of my hand just jerking rapidly like I was trying to make a fist and then after all that stopped my other arm just flung out by itself and hit my water glass and knocked it to the floor.

My problem is that I am also on Percocet for pain. Can't take it with the klonopin so I can either treat my pain or the jerking. It is very frustrating. I am going to see my doctor on WEd to discuss all this.

Just wanted to see if anyone has experiences with this and any advice you can give.

Man I'm sorry to hear that you're having this problem. It sure sounds rough on you, I have to say I've been lucky so far and not had issues with the jerking movements on my body. I better go knock on some wood be right back, as you know I have terrible luck. LOL.

Sorry, I'm punchy tonight had a very long day. I understand thedelimea pain issue Mary Ann and you're in a really difficult spot. You're being forced to make a choice and that's not far at all. I sure hope that you're Dr can offer you some sort of solution to this problem, i hate it that you're suffering, there's got to be backing for you. You'll be in my prayers and I hope all goes well on Wed.

I have shaking in my arms and legs too. Mine doesn't get as strong as yours but it does get frustrating.
Mine is more like twitching most of the time. If woken up out of a sound sleep my arms are uncontrollable in their shaking for about two minutes.

Double check about the meds... I have taken percocet and klonopin both together and haven't been told this could be a problem.

NanaBee, I can understand your frustration when it comes to not being able to take meds together. I have had serotonin syndrome before and now I have to constantly check for interactions between anything I take. I use the drugs.com interaction checker and my doctor to verify interactions. When I checked Percocet and Klonopin, it states it can cause increased dizziness, difficulty concentrating, and drowsiness but no serious interactions. You of course want to verify with your doctor that its ok to take them together. Hope this helps!
