I'm so pleased that you are being allowed to go home. I was so worried for you. I pray this is the beginning of you starting to feel lots better....in every way.

Barbara I'm so happy and thankful that you're going home!!! I've taken several IV meds, including antibiotics, at home. Hubby and I found it pretty easy, so Go Girl Go! Since you're so weak be sure to put chucks on your bed and I found Depends diapers a God send. Once again, just hearing you say you're being discharged makes me grin! Love Ya, Donna

Thanks everyone for responding and celebrating with me that I'm home. My first day home went pretty well. Have to admit I'm having a lot of belly and rib pain. More than in the hospital but I'm up on my feet more here at home.

Bill, has been giving me all of my medications IV. He's helping me up out of the chair and out of bed. My belly is so sore, from tearing the muscle and bleeding internally. The surgeon said it would take 8-12 weeks to heal the hematoma in there as well as the muscle. Said I'd feel like I've been cut open for sure. The ibs hurt like heck too, but I knew they would as I had already fractured 8 of my ribs last year in 2013.

I'm pretty weak, and when the nurse arrived last night he weighed me and I have lost 15 pounds since 12/23/13. Mind you I don't mind losing the weight, but this wasn't the best way to go about it. I'm wiped out and sleep a lot. My cat is so happy to see me, as I'm so happy see him too. I opened my last two Chrismtas gifts and thoroughly enjoyed one today. Bill bought me one of those massagers with heat that you put onto your chair or ouch. I spent most of the day in the chair with it running.

I'm now finishing up my night meds and I'm heading to bed. Need to getup a 4:30 am to take of meds from the frig so I can hang them at 6:30 am.

I hope that you are all doing well, and having low pain levels. Thank you for your prayers and support I'll keep you updated as the week goes on.

I'm glad to hear your first day home went well and Bill is taking car of you.
Enjoy the massage cushions. Rest up and remember to take it easy.

Thank you so much Laura, Chart, David, Fran, UA, and Joy for you kind words and support. I appreciate it that you are all still thinking of me and sending well wishes my way.

Sorry, I've not posted lately but I'm just so weak yet. I finished my IV antibiotics on Thursday night, so glad that's done now. The nurse was here on Friday to take my Huber needle out of my port and I was able to have the most amazing shower after that. I hadn't had a REAL shower since the 22nd of December.

Yep, they let me have three partial showers while in the hospital, but you all know how those go. Yesterday, I finally went out with Bill. I wanted to go with him to the store and pick up groceries. Well, we were gone exactly 2 1/2 hours and boy was I wiped out when we left the store.

Yesterday, was my first outing since I became sick on Dec 20th. Today I think I'll just rest and try to sleep some. I'm up at 5:00 am because my nose stated bleeding at 4:15am. Finally managed to stop the bleeding, but now I can't go back to sleep. My neck is hurting as is everything else, I'm now back down to 20mg of prednisone I'm not to happy on this dose. I was feeling so much better on the 50mgs LOL.

I'll see my PT on Monday morning, I'll also see my PCM on Thursday. Hoping my appointments go well, my poor stomach is in such bad shape that I'm sure it's going to require the Dr to approve it so that I can return to pulmonary rehab.

Well that's pretty much all that's happening here. David thank you for dedicating your 23,000 post to me. Yes, we need to catch up really soon. I know that you're having a lot more pain and I'm truly sorry about that. If there is anything I can do please just let me know.
