Anyone else have crohn's and lupus?

So it all started by having kids. LOL. After that Crohn's was first and now Lupus. Anyone have both? And if so have you found a medication that seems to help with both? I'm tired and achy everywhere all of the time. Of course I have a list of other problems but I'm to tired right now to list them all. But if I can get past that I think it would be a great start. I've known for a year and a half it was Lupus (I thought from the medication but even after stopping it didn't got away or get any better) but the doctor finally said at this appointment "well it seems that everything is pointing at lupus so we will see you in six months and we will know more then." I guess they were thinking it would go away, I was hoping to, but it's not, just getting worse over the last 2 years.

Crohn's isn't on my list of illnesses..

I think being too tired is par for the course. I know there are days where blinking is an effort for me.

i have crohns and lupus too.  i was diagnosed with crohns first and have been on apriso for about 4.5 years so that is completely in remission.  for the lupus it took a while to find medicines that work...right now im on plaquenil and cellcept.

Hi there. I'm new to the forum. I was diagnosed with crohn's in 2005 and just recently diagnosed with SLE Lupus in May 2013. Lupus symptoms have been present for many years but always attributed to something else. I've been on remicade infusions since dec 2013. When I started remicade my crohn's was very active. Upwards of 30 bm's per day. It had taken a while to see any difference with the remicade but am currently down to 8-15 bm's per day. I had a scope in Dec and currently have no inflamed areas which is great news.... Now for the lupus, I've gotten no relief and things keep getting worst. My mobility is compromised- hips, feet, knees, hands, fingers, toes. I have constant headaches, I'm restless when I'm trying to sleep. I have skin issues and have the "butterfly" rash at times. I'm afraid that the remicade is making my lupus symptoms worst but I'm running out of options for treatment of my crohn's. I'm 32 years old and am not ready for a colonoscopy which will most likely happen as I have my large bowel removed.... Anyone else out there with the same things going on? I finally see the rheumatologist next week, Ive been waiting since May.

You've been waiting 7 months to see a rheumy??? Good grief! I wish you'd been treated earlier, as it's no fun to have your mobility compromised. Or maybe I'm reading that incorrectly. I hope you have a good Rheumy who is remicade-aware. I know there are issues with remicade & Lupus, but I don't know much more than that they exist.

Hi all,

I was diagnosed in 2008 with Crohn's Disease and back in August I was diagnosed with Drug-Induced Lupus from having been on Remicade. At this point, my rheumatologist thinks my blood work is pointing more towards the possibility of regular Lupus. I am currently on 125 mg of Azathioprine and 10 mg of prednisone. I have not had any real relief from the Lupus symptoms so my rheumatologist added 400 mg of Plaquenil a day. I am hoping the Plaquenil will be the drug that makes this all better!
