Hey slm6,
I had two strokes in October 2009 but mine were more of the cognitive nature, and not of the physical impairments (so sorry to read of your situation!). I wanted to help input though - the doctors at the hospital told me that there was an alarming high count of blood clots and one had traveled to my brain and caused that. One could speculate that my high leafy green lifestyle diet contributed to it, but I took blood thinners (warfarin up to 30 mg and plavix at 100 mg) for a year afterward and my blood clot levels never changed. I could not deny that I loved spinach and kale and seaweed, but I altered a few of my other food decisions like gluten - sugar - Organics/clean. I haven't been on blood thinners since the year after, and have been doing well. I eat the natural organic form of blood thinners through onion and garlic.
Hope this helps if this applies in any fashion or form.
