So hard to find a reply to this Sunset. There are so many people who deal with cancer who are bald that it is almost a "badge" now. "I have cancer, I am bald, I am okay with it". I know you dont have cancer - but you are losing your hair due to your illness. On the bright side, you wont get the "but you dont look sick" comments that we all get
.
My opinion? Get rid of it. If needed, wear a wig. Your boyfriend sounds like a good guy. Hair doesnt make the woman - or the man for that matter. There are a lot of bald guys out there trying to look like they still have hair. Bad comb-over anyone?
When I was first diagnosed and put on high dose Cellcept I started losing my hair. I was upset about
it (and I am a guy) but decided "it is what it is" and was going to let it happen. When my doc changed my meds the hairloss stopped and what I had lost in a month all grew back. I know it is much harder for a woman but if my wife was going through something that made her lose her hair, I would be totally fine with her being bald. She would still be beautiful.
Now - that being said - have you discussed a different medicine with your doctor? There are many options out there so not sure if you have tried everything and this is the only one working for you now so you are stuck with it.
One thing to mention - being bald if you have not completely lost all your hair is a lot of work. What about
going very short? Or are you losing enough patches that this would not work?
Best of luck in your decision.
Cheers
