Rash Please Help

Hi Everyone,

I have developed a rash on my chest, sides, back and top of thighs. It is small red bumps that itch. I went to the ER and they basically gave me claritin and Hydracortozone cream. I am itching real bad and it is spreading. The ER said maybe a bug bite but I don't think that is what it is.

Has any of you had small red or flesh colored bumps that itch?

Yes, many times. Once I walked into my allergist without an appointment because I could not stand it one more second. They saw me immediately and shot me full of steroids. No answer as to what causes it, though if I forget to pace myself and overdue then it will return. It seems to coincide with lupus/allergy flares.
I feel for you and hope you get some relief.

It's a sun reaction probably. I've found that an ice pack numbs you enough to deaden the itch reaction. Are you protection yourself from UV exposure? That's sunlight (even through windows), fluorescent light, CF bulbs, and halogen bulbs.

It stinks that the sunlight can bother us so much. Feel better soon.

I have never had a reaction to sun or UV lights. Last weekend I did go to a ranch in NY and did a lot of outside activity and the rash came as soon as I got home. I am using benadryl now and I have an appointment with Rheumy on Monday.
