I have bounced around from doc to doc. I have had several diagnosis some of which other doctors have disputed. Currently I am being treated for Lyme Disease and a Mycoplasma infection. There are many cross over symptoms between Lyme and Lupus which is further adding to the confusion. Aside from the crossovers such as chronic pain, joint swelling, fatigue and cognitive issues, I have several symptoms that are not so common in Lyme. This has lead me to believe that I also have an autoimmune disorder.
The short version of the story is that it started with pain and fatigue about a year ago and I have gotten progressively worse since then. I have several lesions on my brain that 4 MS docs can’t agree on. I did a lumbar puncture which was normal. Some of my more unusual symptoms are Optic Neuritis, Erythromelalgia which is similar to Reynaud’s, night tremors, involuntary muscle movement, muscle twitching and a disappearing reappearing rash. Also my hands mildly shake constantly. Recently my left hand wants to curly into a fist especially the pinky and ring finger . It is now stating in my right hand. It is very scary on top of all my other issues.
So I was wondering if any of these more unusual symptoms seem familiar to anyone? I know everyone is different and that we are not docs. I am just trying to find someone who can help me cope with some of these issues. I currently am trying to find a good Rheumy. I have already seen a Rheumy but it was back when I only had about 40% of my current symptoms. We did not find any ANA abnormalities at that time. He diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia. While it is certainly possible, I questioned it since I am a male in my early 30s and not the most likely demographic for Fibro. Since then though I have developed many more symptoms and seen may more doctors.
If anyone has any tips for dealing with this hand issue I would greatly appreciate it. Between that and the vision problems it is becoming very difficult to do my office job.
