New symptoms -> neurologist

Hello everyone,

So last week I seen my rheumy and they said about starting a new medication and to send me for a nerve study and to a neurologist also an MRI on my brain.
IV been having new symptoms of sharp electric like pains in my head off and on only lasting minute or two. And have been experiencing loosing feeling, pins and needles and pain in my hands and feet. Its to the point where I experience it a few times a day and IV been dropping things and loosing my footing.
I'm not exactly sure what they are thinking is going on, they haven't told me just the test they want to run, can anyone give me some insight? Does anyone else have/had this and what does it mean? Does it mean the lupus is progressing ? Also what does nerve study consist of?

I am sorry you are experiencing worsening symptoms. I have had the nerve test done twice. It is as Joy described but (in my experience anyway), the description is actually worse than the test. While uncomfortable, it is not as horrible as it sounds. My results showed worsening nerve damage - probably the result of a lupus flare. They made adjustments to my meds and that seemed to help. Try not to stress (easier said than done, I know). Hope you feel better.
