Light Malar Rash?

Hi Everyone,

I think I got my first Malar rash about 3 weeks ago (pre-diagnosis) and I think it popped back up again yesterday morning, but it is pretty light, it just looks like I'm flushed like I've been working out, and it is slightly splotchy but easily covered up with make up. When I google pictures the rash looks much darker, so I wonder if I'm just noticing this because I'm looking for it? Thanks for the help!

I was wondering same thing. I also seem to get it real light.I have seen pictures of it light. I am in a bit of a flare now and it came out a few weeks ago. I guess everyone is different, I think it can be raised... But mine isn't. Sorry I am not much help...I am new to all this too!

I couldn't tell you either because I'm one who doesn't get the rash. My whole face turns red instead.

Hi guys - I think I have the same thing. I have also been getting these weird red blotches on the tip of my nose. They start out under the skin, like broken blood vessels, but then some of them turn into sores. Then they go away (like right now) but they will come back again in a few weeks.

Anyone experience that? I recently moved into a new house with VERY BRIGHT bathroom lights which have made the very light redness on my cheeks more apparent.

Going to see a rheumy in the next few months, so I'm curious what she will say about the sores on my nose.

I get the light rash across the bridge of my nose and onto cheeks, but I also have a bright patch on my right cheek that's always there when Its active. It can be light.
