hey all,
I'm having one heck of a flare and IV never had swelling and pain like this before. It is almost tear worthy to try to walk to my kitchen let alone the stairs in my building.
Does anyone have any remedies/ideas for swelling and joint pain?
I'm literally bathed in a535 and have taken all of the anti inflammatories I can, I even busted out the morphine.
please help!

I am sorry you are in so much pain. That sounds awful. I find warm showers and epsom salt bathes help me. but, I have never had it as bad as you sound. Please take care and I hope you get relief soon.

Ouch! You sound like you're in misery today.
If I was you I would draw a nice hot bath and pour a whole bag of epsom salt and lavender oil in it. Soak until you're pruney then climb into bed with soft music playing and rest.

Are you feeling any better? It sounds as though you have some inflammation run amuck. It may be time to ask your rheumy about the next line of attack...

Meds such as Imuran, Cellcept, MTX .... there are many more options for treatment beyond just plaquenil and predsnisone. I can't remember what you are on, or if you've even mentioned.

Hey guys,
Thank you all for your suggestions, I seen my rheumy yesterday and they said my lupus is very active, well duh! Lol
I start methotrexate? this week, I hear its harsh, anyone try it?
Its been a hell of a few weeks, thank god for preschool is all I can say, IV been sleeping lots.

My brother tried it and had explosive diarrhea and threw it away and said forget about it. My brother has myesthenia gravis and only has problems with his eyes crossing, he said the cure was worse than the disease..lol. He's not the only one who has told me that...

If the pills are too harsh you can get the shots.
