Hi, from Texas...
Diagnosed with "Lupus-Like Symptoms" or "Connective Tissue Disorder" for various reasons.

Since this is new, I'm learning new pains and so forth.

Lately - tingling (hands, sometimes feet); joint pain; moderate to severe foot pain; extremely sensitive to cold, sunlight (eyes); pale toes (cold); chest pain; nausea; interrupted thinking; mild to moderate fatigue; lightheaded to almost-fall-over dizzy; and my weirdest ---- when I get upset (flash in the pan type moments of anger), I get seriously weak, lightheaded and a couple of times - foggy/disoriented.

Symptoms, from what I can trace back, started to get my attention in about October. Went to family doctor, a neurologist, then to a rheumatologist.

I was "let go" from my job just before Christmas in December (the day after I told my boss I was being tested for Lupus and a couple of weeks after telling his assistant). Coincidence? Maybe.
So, no followups for me (no insurance). I'm just praying my symptoms stay as mild as they are; although, some days I hurt so terribly bad.
Anyway, I certainly realize that it could be so much worse and I hurt for those of you who are debilitated by this cry Know that you are in my prayers.

Since then I've started reserving (minimal hours/month) and volunteering at the local hospital (4 hrs/week).

One thing to do is cover up from UV rays. They make many of us sicker. I'm one of the very sensitive ones. A halogen bulb can make me so weak and ill I shake all over. I buy protective clothing to help me when I'm outside or in places with fluorescent lighting . I even have a collection of sun hats. ☺

If you can get your primary to prescribe you some plaquinel and predisone you might can get by with him taking care of you until you can get insurance. The last two years I had no insurance and could still see my doctors by them accepting sliding fees. Ask about it.

Hi Texas,
Your symptoms sound a lot like mine. I even get the severe weakness and dizziness when I get upset or highly emotional. I think that is really weird and I do NOT like it. I'm sorry about your job and I hope you will find some great support here.

Tater - thank you for the info. I'm currently on Plaquenil (prescribed JUST before my insurance expired) but learned it takes a few months for it to kick in. That's ok. I am thankful, in a way, that I'm not employed (full-time) for that very reason. God knows what He is doing ;)

Ashlaine - YEAH! It's weird!! FIRST time that happened was last October. I remember going to church afterwards and sitting in my car for a few mins until my BFF came over and helped me out of the car. It took a short while, but it went away like nothing had happened. (Before church was over LOL)

Thank you both very much. I'm currently thinking about reaching out to one friend who has it and another who SAYS and BELIEVES she does, but the doctor told her she does not. She said she has all the symptoms, so I told her to get a second opinion... Lupus has many faces (learning that also)..
Anyway...It's kind of a confusing and lonely world and I could use a support group - here and in person.

That sounds like Raynard's Syndrome. Try to keep your hands warm.
