Hi all. I usually am on fibro forum, as I was diagnosed with fibro and psoratic arthritis about two years ago. At one point, they thought I might have Lupus, but I moved and that never went anywhere. So I was just humming along and got a bad flare ( bad mouth sore, severe pain in joints, muscles, headache, and fatigue) and then a sinus infection. Eight days In, I went to a local walk in clinic in desperation.
The doc diagnosed me with the sinus infection and suggested a steroid shot and predinisone to clear up the fluid. Twenty minutes after the shot, the fluid and the flare were gone. I did not feel like superwoman as they suggested I would. I just felt normal, and the way I do when I am flare free. For the first time in 14 years.
My question is this- does the steroid work that quickly for you to stop a flare? or is it a build up over time thing?
