Hey all. Still on a journey, and it's been a long one. I have not been diagnosed with lupus, but fibro/PSArthritis instead. I have a great rheumy, and he's been very helpful.
So here's the deal. Once or twice a year I get what I call an eye flare. It's painful. itchy, blurry, red, headachey and the sun is impossible and it can last for weeks until it calms down. Nothing has ever helped. I've been diagnosed with optic neuritis, and then had it taken back. So all the years, it's just one of my "friends".
Recently I was given steroids for a sinus infection. It made the flare go away. What sweet relief after all these years. Once the steroid wore off, all of the pain, fatigue and eye crap came rushing back.
So I did what I always do. Years ago, a doc told Go to the eye doc immediately if this happened. So I did. Nothing is ever found, and they give me dry eye drops and send me home. I figured if nothing else, I'd get some cool new glasses.
Halfway through the eye exam, they dilated my pupils and I was cleared for all the scary stuff that runs in my family. Then he asked me if I'd ever been told I had lesions in both eyes. I've been sent to a retinal specialist for follow up.
So my question is. Do you guys have the same icky feeling and lesions? Do steroids help? Does this mean it's possible I have lupus? ( have four of the 11 symptoms and 1 positive ANA in the past)
As always, thank you very much.
