lupus nephritis with chronic renal impairment

hi wish to seek advice from patient here.
my current lab result not good.

Haemoglobin 8.3g/dL
urea 17mmol.L
creatinine 200 mcmol/l

but 24 hour urine protein 0.16g
24hr urine output 2300

potassium normal
sodium a bit low 131mmol/L
chroride normal
phosphate normal

liver profile
protein. L65g/L

wish to ask anybody has this experience. very worried for my kidney function.

anybody here lupus nephritis ? also, how long can delay to progress to dialysis?

can take any cooked meat? or just avoid?

currently on MMF 2g/day
and predisonole 10 mg/day

Hi and welcome to the lupus forum, I'm sorry that you needed to find us to ask a question though.

I do not have lupus nephritis nor have I ever had it. We do a few members that do and hopefully they will be along to welcome you and answer your questions that you have.

I'll send an email to one of our Forum Moderators who has had a kidney transplant and went dialysis for a long prior to getting her kidney.

I just wanted to pop in and welcome and let you know that some will be along to help with your questions.

Hi! Welcome to healing well :)! There's a lot of good people here to encourage and support each other! As far as your creatinine, I think I converted it to the US creatinine which would be 2.2 creatinine. And a BUN(blood urea nitrogen level) would be 47. The levels are high but not terrible!

Everyone's lupus is different so we can't give young specific time or even range till you start dialysis. If MMF and prednisone are doing their jobs, you might never progress to ESRD.

As far as diet, you should ask your doctor what to avoid and how much protein to eat a day. Each doctor has their preferences based on your labs and I would be very uncomfortable telling you to eat low protein if he wants you to eat high protein. Protein coverts to the blood test albumin and the albumin helps fight off infections and many other things. So it really depends on so many factors. (For this reason I was told to eat high protein diet)

Personally for me, I stayed with a creatinine where yours was for several years and then I had another harsh flare that took out my kidneys and ended up on dialysis. I know many other people who have stage 3 kidney disease and haven't moved passed that.

I know this doesn't really answer much but I tried to explain it to the best I could. Do you have any other questions?

i am currently 34 years old, staying in singapore.

well, my creatinine was well maintain since 2008 to 2015. range about 160-180

however i would like to shed off some body fat, then i went to chinese cupping session, then eat lesser . + diarrhea + vomiting. then it progressed into acute kidney failure. and end of dec 15 i was admitted due to high creatinine 400. and vomit, fatigue, diarrhea. very scary.

after the fluid intake, drip. then my creatinine was drop to 170 while i discharge.

however, 18 Jan i went to took blood, then it shoot up to 244 and urea 20. then yesterday 27 Jan. i checked blood again, drop to 200. and urea 17

well. i not sure whether my kidney function is irrevestible not.

btw, one lucky thing is last time used to have high protein. but now, i have lesser urine protein. 0.16g/2300ml

i am very worried my kidney will progress fast to kidney failure.

i visited doctor usually 2 month . i visited every 4 month for my renal and sle doctor.

so i tried to arrange like Jan-sle, march -renal. take turn to visit both of them.

but i just follow sle doctor for my medicine prescription.
