Hearing issues. Could it be tinnitus? Could it be caused by lupus?

Hello. I have been having some hearing issues. Been dealing with a ring in my ears expecially the left ear. When i hear it at night i have trouble sleeping so i need to turn on like the a.c to block the ringing noise. I sometimes hear whooshing and hissing and it distracts me. I also have to tell people to repeat themselves in person and on the phone because i cant hear them clearly. Could it be caused by lupus. Been dealing with feeling lightheaded and the inside of my ears itch alot. I was searching online seems it could be tinnitus.

I have had something similar in the past that was related to Lupus inflammation. Mine was the sound of my heart beating plus some vertigo - I think overall I had 3 episodes each of which was from 2-6 weeks in duration.

Other than some motion sickness meds (over the counter) the rheumy wasn't really able to do anything beyond the plaquenil and prednisone I was already taking.

Since this sounds like a new symptom for you, I would recommend a visit to your rheumy - perhaps there is something they can do that will help, esp. if they find your blood inflammation numbers are high. (My last episode was over 6 years ago, so maybe there are new treatments, too.)

sounds like a dental cavitations issue-probably from a poorly extracted wisdom tooth-might be worth seeing a biological dds

I have tinnitus really bad in both ears. They have a tendency to itch something terrible during allergy season for me.

My ENT doctor said the ringing is your ears trying to hear what you've lost in hearing and all they're getting is phantom noises.

I also have mild benign positional vertigo. Certain things will trigger a dizzy spell.

I have had hearing loss caused by inflammation. I'm actually supposed to get another hearing test but am unable to drive due to surgery. Many meds also cause toxicity to our inner ears and cause hearing loss. its best to have it checked to possibly treat the inflammation and find the cause. being hard of hearing is a real pain! pardon? what? sorry can you repeat that? stop mumbling! (commonly coming from my lips lol)
