Hi!
I was diagnosed with Lupus last week officially by rheumatologist.
She prescribed plaquenil right away.
I'm about a week into the medication and I feel better already...
Is this possible?
I mean it feels good to feel better, it's been awhile since I've felt this way. I do have pains here and there but not as bad as I used to..

My lyme disease test came back positive few months ago but docs regared as false positive.

Could this be something else?
How long did it take for your plaquenil to start working?

Plaquenil usually has to build up in your system, so it takes a couple of months for the full effect. Is that the only thing she prescribed?

Sometimes we feel better right away because of the relief of being taken seriously and getting an actual diagnosis!

Glad you're feeling better. The half life of Plaquinel is ~30-50 days. I think that's how long it takes to get into your system. It takes 5 times that (5 months) to get it out of your system after you stop taking it. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Did anyone else have eye issues due to Plaquinel?

Are you saying you definitely had eye issues that were related to Plaquenil? That is actually very rare, and I don't know of anyone else active right now who has had problems. When problems do occur, they are supposed to resolve rather quickly with discontinuing Plaquenil. Has that been your experience?

Feeling better lasted only for about a week..
I felt like I was getting better.. but nope still in bed and feel pretty miserable. Thanks for the comments!
