Was in ICU

Hi Everyone. I've been in the hospital 7 days and finally going home today. I went to the ER because I had been sleeping 3 days and finally took my temperature. It was 99.8 but I never have fevers so we went to ER. I was in septic shock, stabilized, and admitted. Even with 5 liters of fluid my blood pressure began dropping quickly. Medication brought it back up and saved my life. I know it sounds dramatic, but I was dying quickly.

I've been on the ward (sleeping) for a few days and all antibiotics were stopped yesterday. I'm exhausted but holding my own so I'm going home today. Love, Butterflake

Oh my goodness, I’m so glad you knew even though you weren’t running a fever something wasn’t right and you went to the ER. Happy to hear things are back on track now and you’ll be going home soon. Rest and feel better soon.

Wow, that's crazy. It happened to me once too. I had pain when I took a breath. I had no idea how serious this can be. Pleurisy... I didn't go to the hospital, I thought it would go away. Eventually I couldn't take a breath at all without wheezing uncontrollably. I ended up in the ICU on a ventilator for weeks. it was the worst. You would have never thought I was THAT sick. I guess if you have a fever, and you're very tired, your pulse is high, oxygen low, blood pressure low, go to the ER. The ER said I had pneumonia and admitted me, but I ended up in a regular room without any treatment, not in the ICU where i needed to be. They should have started treating me for the septic shock right away... I had a fever spike in the night. That's when things hit the fan and I ended up on the tube.

I am so sorry. Get some rest. You're very lucky you're home and doing better. Hope you have a quick recovery.

I still have terrible PTSD from that experience...
