Anyone remember Okie (Carol)?

Some of you older members might remember Okie (Carol) who used to post here regularly (2006-2014). Her diagnosis turned out to be Scleroderma rather than Lupus and she moved on to other support forums and hasn't been on HW for 4 years or so.

Anyway, I received news yesterday that Carol passed away Thursday (2/9/18) from complications of Scleroderma in her lungs.

I thought some of you might be interested to know... if I find a link to an obituary or anything I'll post it here.

Such sad news! I never knew her, but I recall Barbara Lee supporting her through rough times. Do you ever hear anything from Nikita or Bill? I hope you are feeling well these days.

Remember Carol well. Scleroderma is a really nasty disease and I can't imagine what she went through.

I am doing OK but lupus has been giving me fits the past 4 years. Liver (now ok) and platelets (not ok). Had heart issues (under control now) last year and nobody wants to work on my body with any type of surgery unless I get my platelets up so I get occasional rounds of high doses of prednisone and IVIG infusions. More next month. Otherwise life is pretty much the same. Polymyositis has been in remission since 2006 so that is a blessing. Every day I get up is a good day. And I still downhill ski despite my age and disability.
