Live in Mexico Beach fl, have medical concerns

Hello, I have posted several times before with questions. I live in Mexico Beach Fl where we are considered ground zero for hurricane Michael. Our house was one of the lucky ones, windows blown out and roof damaged, air conditioning unit now needs replacement. Lots of clean up inside the house since the storm came in after the windows were blown out. Furniture has to be replaced and probably some cieiling. Trees are down or gone. My car was crushed under a tree, the truck and my 63 falcon banged up. Ofcourse lots of cleaning up outside as well. Trees everywhere are down, nothing is green. My community is mostly gone, houses and businesses. My sons house is gone along with everything they owned. But all my children and grandchildren are safe. We all start over. Finally here is my question. We are in Jacksonville and have gone home long enough to board up and put tarps over the house. My Pain Management doctors office as well as my pharmacy and other doctors offices are in Panama City which is also mostly gone. I have mot been able to get through to especially pain management. Lucky I was able to fill my prescription for my pain med in Jaxksonville and am okay for now. What do I do from here. We want to go back as soon as possible but no electric, gas, water or food in any of the surrounding areas. What if my Dr office was among those destroyed? This is not a prescription that I could get through just any doctor and I have not been able to get through to my primary care doctor either. Im fretting I know. Any helpful suggestions and sanity is appreciated.

Yikes! So sorry you live in an affected area, that has to be stress inducing, and I'm sure you know stress isn't very good for Lupus. Try to stay in the moment and do one thing at a time. I don't have any great ideas off the top of my head.

Did your Dr have an online portal so that you can see your records? If you can't get in touch with him or his office, you may be able to use the information found there to see another Dr in Jacksonville. I would imagine that Drs there are seeing lots of chronic patients so might have ideas on what to do. I would point out to the new Dr that an interruption in the care plan already established by your currently-absent Dr would be harmful to you.

If your run into a FEMA office, remember to ask them about Drs as well as for food and housing issues. They may have better ideas.

Hi Dustmite, I am so sorry for what you have gone through and are going through! I live near Jax and there are PM dr's here. Coastal Pain &Spine is a group that has several locations around here and Premier is another. If you can google pain mgt in jax you will see several options. I can't give anybody a great review they all stink but hopefully you can get an appt soon and they can provide the care. Not sure if that was what you were asking but I think you will need to be seen to get scripts. I think so anyway. Good luck!

Thank You for your quick replies. I am hoping that my pain management center will be able to rebuild quickly. We havent been to Panama City yet but my son said its like a third world country. We are hoping to go back in the next day or so. I am ready to clean up and get professionals out to fix and replace what the hurricane took. We are luckier than most in our area we still have our house. Im just overwhelmed right now, I dont have time for a flare. I was suppose to go in last week to have a radio frequency nerve obliteration done on three levels of my facet joints. I guess it will be a hurry up and wait. One day, one thing, one issue at a time.
