Living with a wife with Lupus

I’ve been married going on 39 years and my wife was diagnosed with Lupus in 1993 and we had a two year old boy who has gone on and graduated from college! I’ve read a lot of the letters and it really it home what a lot of men are going through! I too told my wife 11 years ago to retire that I could provide for us and we paid are house off paid all of our cars off and are not in debt but it’s hard the sexual part is pretty much non existing for me now which sucks but I love my wife and I’m in for the long haul! Sometimes I get fustrated but then I try to put myself in her place and I know she would be there for me. My wife is a tough and independent woman who I’ve learned how to read her when she says she’s feeling alright but she isn’t I know! Three weeks ago I got woke up at 1200 am on a Saturday by my son who said he thought mom was having a stroke so I jumped out of bed and told my son to call the paramedics and they were there quick anyways my wife didn’t have a stoke but her sodium level was extremely low and they kept her for four nights it scared the hell out of me and I know now that I love my wife through thick and thin and will do whatever I can to be more understanding and to keep her stress level down because I don’t want to go through that again she is a great mom and wife! My wife got a breast augmentation quite a few years ago and one of them pretty much turned to goo and she had to have surgery to get all they could out but that is one reason she could have developed lupus so for you ladies be happy at what you have and the good lord has blessed you with because knowing now I would have talked her out of it but she was a little self confident because one breast was bigger then the other but if I could turn the clock back I would have talked her out of it! Well feel free to reply I’m sort of an expert at living with a wife with lupus. 26 years but I don’t know all the answers but feels good to beable to share my story! God bless you all

I still have a lot to learn but I know she is stuck with me and all I can do is be supportive and more understanding! My wife is still an attractive woman but she has goting were she doesn’t want to do much anymore as far as going out but she still keeps a clean house and will mow the yard even when I tell her not to I will get it! I guess she just wants to feel like she contributes and I know she does, God blessed me to have this woman in my life!
