hey everyone.

well, there is some good news. i got the job! full time photojournalist. yep.  my fellowship was really interesting, but maddening. i am going to resign monday morning, and i hope take the week off to get organized and rest.

the vegan diet is going well. it hasn't been hard like i thought it would be. i had a migraine tuesday into wednesday, and then another thursday night into friday.  today when my fiance walked downtown, my head started hurting again. i'm starting to wonder if it is the sun exposure that is causing these horrible headaches.  does that happen to anyone else? i am going to get back into the habit of wearing sunglasses and see if that helps. 

i hope everyone is having a good weekend. i've been resting these evening, and i'm headed out to take some photos of bart perform at a local venue, just for a little while though. i'm afraid of too much noise might bring the migraine back.

Yeah........I am so happy for you. I am sorry that your headache/migraine still goes on. It is quite terrible, and I hated it too. My headache/migraine is not caused by sun exposure. I know that some people here are sensitive to the sun. They would tell you more about it as they read the post. Hope you feel better. Do you take any medication for your migraine? Some medications are pretty good.

That's great news Jessica (about the job that is!).  I think the sun can cause headaches and other issues as well.  I think covering up may be the answer though.  I don't have that type of a reaction to the sun (the bright lights can be SO painful though) but a lot of the other members here have mentioned that they do cover most of their skin while in the sun.  I'd be interested to see if that helps with your headaches.

Do you take anything with your migraines?

Hi jessica, so I guess it isn't from detoxing from coffeehuh? I do get a pain in my forhead if I go out without sunglasses. I havn't had any rashes from the sun though. I have a very dark pair of sunglasses that seem to help. I hope you get some releif.

congratulations on the new job! I'm not a bit surprised after I saw your photographs you have a wonderful eye for photography. Way to go! I'm so happy for you.

thanks ya'll! i am going to try to update my flickr acct up to date (and i will get it organized) i'm a little overwhelmed going from photograph hobbist to photography pro.

i'm not sure what is up with the increased migraines. i was just thinking it could be the sun since i had been out a lot lately...i really did think that it was the caffiene! i guess it could just be 'one of those things' like anything else. i don't have anything that i take each day to prevent migraines, but i am interested in it since they are happening so often. i have taken maxalt in the past, but recently i've just taken a vicodin and tried my best to sleep it off. they normally last a total of 48 hours start to totally gone, but for whatever reason this one won't let totally go. i'm going to have a laps in insurance while change jobs, for two or three weeks. as soon as i get that figured out i think i am going to see the dr about it. my tolerance for pain has increase SO MUCH since i first got sick, and i will wait and wait to take anything. i'm trying to be more mindful and not wait until i'm totally miserable to take anything.

Hi Jessica,

   Congrats on your job! I wish you the best! I do get headaches if I'm in the sun for any length of time as well. My eyes are like vampires. I can't stand the bright light from the sun. I have to look down when outside. I keep the inside of my house pretty dark too.

   I hope the headaches get better for you soon. Good luck with the new job. Update us when you can and take care. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi jessica, I don't get headaches with the sun but it causes fatigue and nausea for me. I guess everyone is different. I was actually out in the sun for some time yesterday ~ 1 hour - I had no choice :( and I was feeling yucky all day. I actually went to bed at about 3pm yesterday and didn't wake up until this morning and still feel yucky. I HATE the sun :(

Chiming in here, Im new to the group and I was Diagnosed with Lupus 3 yrs ago. The sun makes me feel nauseas too, I work with Pre schoolers and have to go outside daily. I regret it by the end of each day. Another thing if im in the sun uncovered my skin is hot like fire , when I drive I have to be careful to cover my arms or I burn immediately.
