I've not been feeling to good the past few days but I think I figured it out. I think I'm trying to fight off a flare. Yesterday my brother came over to fix a leaking pipe from my toilet. He bought new inside parts for it too. he gave them to me and said put them together. Now this is not rocket science. plus the directions were there. I got as far as taking the peices out of the plastic and I just stood there and stared at them. I'm sure my brother must have thought I was nuts or just plan lazy but I couldn't do it. I couldn't even begin to comprehend it. Normally I would have at least gave it my best shot and been eager for the challenge. I feel so totally useless. My brother finally did them for me. I went in and went to bed shortly after he left. other than waking up here and there I never really got up again until now. Now I hurt everywhere. and my glands are so sore around my neck and chin. I looked it up and there are alot of references to lupus and R/A causing swollen glands. all though I am quite convinced that I could google hang nail/lupus and somthing would pop up. This is so not what I needed while fighting to over come this depression. Don't worry I am not suicidal. Actually my youngest brother commited suicide. It about killed my parents. If anyone ever considers it DON"T because people you love will never get over it! I hope I didn't step over the boundaries there but I understand if it gets deleted.

Man I can barely move my neck. My head is in a huge fog. I havn't took my temp yet. even the bottoms of my feet hurt. I just want to cry. I have never felt so useless as I did staring at those packages and they looked like something from another planet. I'm glad I wasn't behind the wheel of a car than. Now that's a scarey thought. well it's 3;30 so I guess I'll go. If you don't hear from me for a few you'll know I'm probably in bed.

Carol I hear you on the darn brain fog, I hate it. I get so frusturated when I know what I want to do or say and then all of a sudden it is gone. Just like that, as if it was never there in the first place.

I'm sorry you are hurting so badly, take it easy and rest as much as possible and don't beat yourself up for feeling so bad, it's not your fault.

I'm so sorry that you are feeling rotten. I can understand the brain fog too, I hate it when I'm at work and trying to fake my way out of it, hopefully they won't catch on lol. You have had to deal with so much lately and I'm sorry it caused a flare for you. I hope it starts to get better. Remember just to make sure that you take really good care of yourself and rest as much as you can to fight it off. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

Oh Carol, I'm so sorry you are so miserable ((((hugs)))). It does sound like a nasty flare or else that you are coming down with something. I know what you mean about the bottoms of your feet hurting - I get that when I'm in a bad flare too. Please don't wait too long to call your doc if this keeps up. I know you said you have had some prednisone on hand - have you tried some to see if you get any relief? That brain fog (or more like a complete brain freeze) is terrible. I've had those times where I can't comprehend what people are trying to tell me and sometimes I just stand and stare at something, forgetting how to use it or what to do. Sometimes when I'm at the computer I completely blank out on how to spell even simple words. The brain fog isn't funny, but it resulted in something funny yesterday. I was trying to tell my son to take off his baseball pants last night and instead, I told him to take off his baseball cards. Try to get as much rest as you can and I pray that this flare is short lived. It's so hard when you have those times of feeling good like you had not too long ago and then end up flaring so bad. There's no way to understand why that happens. Give us an update when you are feeling up to it. Take care Love and hugs

Hippimom you made me laugh with one of your comments. This one to be exact:The brain fog isn't funny, but it resulted in something funny yesterday. I was trying to tell my son to take off his baseball pants last night and instead, I told him to take off his baseball cards.

It reminded me of what I said to my girls a couple of weeks ago when I was cutting our grass with the riding mower, I came in and asked the girls if they would go out and move the trampoline so I could finish vacumming the lawn,lol. Lupus brain fog, you just have to laugh at it sometimes.

Oh, Connie, I laughed out loud at that one. Hey, at least with a vacuum you wouldn't have to rake or bag the grass. Carol, I'm thinking about you and hoping you are resting comfortably.

Like you, I am sometimes shocked at the extent of my pain and fatigue. Sometimes I think... there has to be something else going on here (as if lupus wasnt enough tongue )

Today I could not hold my upper torso up. Couldn't sit up long, couldn't walk more than a few steps. The exhaustion and fatigue were literally crushing and the pain I felt in my body was unreal. It felt as if I had hundreds of pounds of extra weight tied to my body.

Rest rest rest. Its all we can do!

When you have those swollen glands though, be sure and check with your doc just to double check that nothing else is going on. One thing I have found is that adding an infection to the Lupus mix makes a horrible mess : )

Hippimom, my husband and kids laugh at me all the time because of some of the stuff I say. I get frusturated but try to laugh it off, heck life is to short to cry about things that can be funny,lol.

Carol I hope you are getting some relief from your pain, get as much rest as you can, I hope you feel better soon.

Darlene I hope you are feeling some relief today too!!

Thanks Connie, Des, Hippi, Darlene, I'm sorry I didn't respond yesterday. I am so sick! I just want to throw up. I don't even know what my temp is. I never get a rash on my face but boy they are just bright rose red right now. My esophagus is or fire. I wish it wasn't so hot cuz I'd eat some soup or somthing easy.  I'm gonna have some herb tea and see if that helps. I bought some 7 up. but that just made it worse. sad anyway I just wanted to get back to you. Thanks for sharing your brain fog stories with me it helps alot. I actually told my brother later that I felt so bad about not being able to put it together. He was good about it. He just made some kind of joke. Usually it is funny but I felt totally out of control when I couldn't even begin to figure it out.

Connie when you're done vacuming your yard you can come do mine!

Carol hope you are feeling better. Even though the test came back normal I still know how you feel about the brain fog. This weekend I was out with a friend and kept talking to her like I was talking to another friend. All day I kept thinking I was talking about my friend Bonnie who I was in the car with and talking to my friend carolynn. I called my ex by my childhood sweethearts name and my b/f by another one of my ex's.

Man was it a bad day. I came home and went back to bed was there almost all weekend and yesterday after dcc left I went to bed. Today 'i'm a little better.

Hi okie,

Have you called the dr. on this one? Maybe you've got strep or something. You can get swollen glands with that. And when your throat is sore, it can make your ears hurt (referred pain). don't I sound smart? I tell ya, I remember the strangest things, and forget the things I need to remember!

I hope you're feeling better. If not, time to call our not best friend, *the Doctor*!!! Thinking of you.....

Hi hippi, veronica, emmi, patty. Well I didn't sleepgood all night. I'm still whining. I took a shower yesterday and i felt like I had lead in my arms and my legs and my back. I guess I'll have to call the doctor today. My jaw hurts to touch it. weird. I don't know why. It seems to have started with my ears and now it is spreading. I am a little afraid of that. I don't want some virus coarsing it's way through my body. I havn't been running a fever though. Anyway I just wanted to say thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers.

I hope you are feeling better.. you were one of the 1st to welcome me and I can tell you have a sweet spirit...I will be at hospital with my husband tomorrow he is having a growth removed from his prostate and it may be cancerous and we will be in the dark for a few days.....but I know regardless what life brings us God will see us through although it seems pretty dark sometimes......take care of yourself and hopefully you will let me know how you are doing soon

Hi Veronica, Emmie, and Sheryl, thank you so much for checking on me. I'm feeling a little better today. at least my legs don't feel like dead weight. I can't get into my doctor. She is booked up. If I get too bad I am to go to the hospital or urgent care. I don't like either of those places. They don't take very good care of me. So I will wait it out and see if it goes away. I am a little concerned about my blood. I have been wearing shorts because of the temps and my dog scratched me with his toe nail on the top of my foot. Boy it bled for quite a while.I know I hate anemia of and on. I'm taking b12 vitamins. I don't know if bleading that mch from a little poke on my foot is a good thing or a bad thing?

Anyway thanks again for checking on me. Sheryl my thoughts and prayers are with your family today as your husband has this surgery. Please keep us informed. I know it can be frighting.

Carol and everyone....Thanks for the positive thoughts...My husband made it through the day a little uncomfortable he is we should get the results by next friday....I am very tired sitting at a hospital is exhausting for anyone but my legs and hips and etc are killing me so to bed early pain meds arein order....

for your prayers we are scared but yesterday the surgeon said he is pretty sure it is benign so now we just wait.....as for me yesterday really was hard on my body...My muscles and joints are of fire today I wasn't able to take all my pain meds yesterday at the hospital because I needed to be the coherent one able to drive thank God we only live a few blocks from home. and I was so tired from the night before no sleep I was up until 4am and we had to be up and going by am


He a good weekend
