This costocondtiris is like nothing else!!!!
Some of you talked about
feeling like you were having a heart attack just to learn that you had costo. I thought the pain in my chest was radiating to my back but actually it's my back that's in agony. When the doc pressed on my spine, we discovered that the inflammed cartlidge is all along my spine, but only on the left side. The pain in my chest is also on my left side. But there's no relief for my back. I've tried pain killers, a hot bath, muscle relaxants, and finally I borrowed a heat wrap from my daughter that she uses for cramps. But this is just taking my breath away. And it won't let me sleep. Thankfully everyone here will get up and go their own way in the morning and I'll be able to sleep as late as I want.
My poor hubby felt so bad tonight because he can't touch me anywhere. He so sweet and tries to comfort me but everytime he'd put his arm around me or rub my back I'd recoil from the pain.
I just don't know what to do other than take more pain meds, but I'm always so careful not to overdo it. Oh well. It seems that we all have our moments, don't we.
Who treats you guys for costo? Your PCP or your rheumy? My pcp diagnosed it but seems like since it's inflamation my rheumy should treat it. My pcp asked me if I wanted any NSAIDs for it and I said no because they chew up my stomach. I guess I'll call my rheumy on Monday.
Someone please tell me what you do to get relief from this.
The relief I have is being able to communicate with someone in the middle of the night! Thanks friends.
Love,
Pat
