A little off topic-- does anyone keep fish (in aquariums of course!)

We have a 55 gallon in our dining room.  Full of community fish.  I too love the peacefulness of watching fish and listening to the water run through the filters.  We also have a small aquarium in our guestroom which our new puppy decided to bark at this morning.  She wouldn't stop barking while sitting on the bed watching the fish.  It was too funny.  She also tries to "eat" the fish through the glass of the aquarium.

I have chihuahuas, well one is a chihuahua dachshund cross, and these little dogs are just great, I didn't appreciate them until I got these. So smart and good!

My mother chihuahua, my girl Goldie, is so funny about a betta we have in a bowl and the rest of the fish. She knows my female clawed cat Pita likes to kill stuff (so does she at times) and Goldie actually barks sharply and growls at the cat when she tries to get the fish. It's so funny. Now if only Goldie would correct her chihuahua son Carlito, who likes to drink out of the bowl. She's a little jealous though and seems to like to get him in trouble by not correcting him out and encouraging him to do bad. I think when I get the chance I will make a screen saver of my aquarium and see if I can get it to loop.

In Florida when I was very sick, my husband went out and bought be a beautiful 35 gallon hexagon aquarium and I got to fill it with lots of fish. We had a beautfiul backgground and a faux log with a giant mushroom growing out of it. I filled it with my favorite, big eyed goldfish! It was so relaxing, the visual and the sound.

When we moved I couldnt bear the thought of my fishes dying just because I was moving, so I gave the whole setup to a homeschooling family who lived next door.

Now I want fish again!

Melissa if you check with the pet store when you purchase your fish, they can help you fill your tank with fish that will all get along. I have had that happen before too : )
