Seeing Doc tmw and possible Lupus

I am seeing my doctor in the morning and everything that has been going on. I am a little nervous. Sometimes it is hard to not think all of this is in my head.

Here are my symptoms:

Fainting/Dizziness - dating back 1 year 10 episodes (apx.)
Fever – 99.5 to 101 2 months *unsure about previous*
Extreme Fatigue – 15 hours of sleep a day – 1 month
Muscle Aches – All over – unsure of length of time
Joint aches – ankles, wrists, neck, fingers (can’t open soda bottles easily, open cans) – unsure of length of time
Back pain – dating back 2 years
Rash on face – 5 days
Diarrhea – 2 months
Vomiting – lasted 3 weeks, ended a week and a half ago
Nausea – 2 months
Cold nose/feet/hands – as long as I can remember
Temperature sensitivity – as long as I can remember
Mouth sores – tongue and behind bottom lip – as long as I can remember
Nose sores – every few weeks, as long as I can remember
Constant pressure on Bladder (peeing 5 times before can fall asleep) – 6 months, no UTI
Abdominal Pain – 2-3 months
Frequent Headaches/Migraines – every two weeks or so, 2-3 years
No period – 10 months (no reason found)


What does everyone think? Is it possible that Lupus will be my Dx? I am so tired. I have worked only 5 of the last 6 weeks.

I also have an appointment with a rheumatologist on the 29th of the month too.
I forgot a couple of symptoms: no appetite (6 months), swollen ankles (2 months) and weight loss (17 pounds in 5 weeks)

The rash I have looks like a flush, or like someone slapped or pinched my skin. Have you had the rash before, or seen it? It on each cheek and on my nose, and maybe some on my forehead. It gets worse after heat, sun or a shower/bath.

From what I have read everything fits....... I guess I am scared and wondered if you feel like the symptoms fit?

Hi emerson and welocme. Rosie gave you some really great information and I can't think of anything to add. I just wanted to say that I'll be thinking about you and hoping that your appointment today goes well. Like Rosie said, a lot of your symptoms fit with lupus, but it's so hard to diagnose. I don't blame you for feeling scared - I remember being very scared and overwhelmed when the doctor first mentioned lupus to me. Hang in there. It can sometimes take a while to get a definite diagnosis, but the most important thing is to get some kind of treatment for your symptoms. It's good that you have a rheumatologist appointment later this month and hopefully he can help you get to the bottom of your symptoms and give you a diagnosis. Please ask any questions you have and also know we are here for any support you might need. Being sick can really be hard emotionally. The wonderful thing about this forum is that you are among people who truly understand what you are going through and we are very supportive of each other. Hi Emerson, I'm carol. I'm glad your doctor is trying to get you into your rheumy faster. Waiting is just awful. It took me 4 months to get into a new one. I hope her doctor was able to give you something to help your symptoms until you can be seen again.

Welcome to the forum. I'm so happy that you have a great doctor who shows concern for your health and is getting you in to see a rheumy on Monday. Hopefully the rheumy will have the results of your blood work by then so will be able to get a real good picture of what's going on with you. Rosie gave you some good advice when she suggested that you take a list of your symptoms to the doctor. Before I was diagnosed I only told my rheumy about symptoms I thought could be related to lupus, but I soon learned that my periodic eye infections and other things I assumed were totally unrelated were also caused by an autoimmune disease. I'd also take a written list of questions you have. Lots of luck. Let us know how your appointment goes, or if you have any other questions between now and then.

Another welcome coming your way!  I am sorry you're dealing with so much.  You do sound very unwell.  That's actually a good thing considering you're seeing a rheumy on Monday.  So many of us have the symptoms and then while we wait to get in to see someone, the symptoms go away!  That is one very frustrating part of this disease.

 

I don't have any more advice to add.  The other ladies gave you perfect advice.  Please let us know how your appointment went!

Hi, Emerson and welcome. I'm trying to play catch-up here. I'm sorry for all you're having to deal with. It's great that your PCP got you worked in quickly to see a rheumy. I'm interested in finding out how your appt. went. Try to take this one step at a time. Sickness and disease can throw a lot at you all at once. If you do have lupus or another AI disease, it may be able to be managed with the right meds. I wish you the best and hope your appt. went well. Let us know,
