How long do your flares usually last???

My flares usually last 3 weeks or so.  But it completely depends on the person, their meds, lifestyle, stress loads, etc, etc.  The list doesn't have an end!  It's totally different for each person.  No one should try to compare themselves to anyone else.  It's a very individual disease.

Thanks so much for your reply!

My doc is running ANA tests and the sed test and another one.  He is not sure what is wrong with me!

I just know that all of a sudden I hurt all over, my joints are swollen, my fingers are purple with red speckles, I can barely walk down the stairs!  I just hurt!

Hi MellyMel (thats one of my nicknames!) I hope you're feeling better and your doctor is getting you some answers.
I'm not sure how to answer your question because I'm not sure exactly sure when my flare ends. When I get a flare, I basically feel "sick" for a few months before returning to a relative normal. I suppose my blood tests return back to normal (or at least a non-flare lupus normal) after maybe two or three months after treatment. I dunno if this helps.

But as Ginny said, it really just depends on the person.

Thanks! tongue   I am feeling a little better.  I just still have muscle aches, tender and swollen joints just not as bad as last week.  Plus all of a sudden, I feel like I was run over by a truck.  I think I have a rash on my face, but I could just be imagining it!

Oh well, I guess time will tell whats wrong.  If one more doctor blaims my symptoms on my weight or anxiety, I think I give up! sad
